ADMISSION: CORRIGENDUM-II has been published

 

 

 

The college open for admission of both male and female students in degree courses. Admission to both Honours & General Courses made strictly on academic merit and on the basis of College norms prescribed by the Admission sub-committee. Students who passed the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by W.B. Council of H.S. Education or an equivalent examination conducted by any other Board/Council in India or abroad and recognized as such by the university of Calcutta are eligible to apply subject to the fulfilment of conditions as may be laid down by the college authority and the University of Calcutta from time to time as for example a student must have secured pass marks in five recognized subjects of which atleast one shall be English in the as examination.

As per C.U. notified No CSR / 18 / 2003, the candidates having the certification of +2 level open learning course offered by the Rabindra Nath Mukta Vidyalaya (West Bengal Open School) are eligible to apply subject to the fulfilment of conditions as laid down in the admission rules of University of Calcutta

  • Date & time of issue: 07.06.11 to 13.06.11 -11:00 A.M. to 2 P.M. (From RGSN Campus) (Saturday 11 A.M. – 12 Noon)
  • Submission of Forms: (RGSN Campus) 07.06.11 to 14.06.11 between 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. (Saturday 11A.M. to 1:30 P.M.) (14.06.2011- upto 2 P.M.)
  • Price of Forms and Prospectus = Rs. 50.00 (Fifty only)

Important Notes

 

The candidates/ willing students are asked to note the following:

  1. Only the students of WBCHSE, CBSE, ISC, Tripura Council of H.S. Education, Madrasah (W.B.), Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya and National Open School, recognized by Distant Learning Council will be considered for admission in different streams according to the norms framed herewith.  A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the first year of the three year B.A/B.Sc./B.Com (Honours/ General/Major) Course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. However, no candidate shall be allowed for admission after lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognised regular course of study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For admission to the Honours / Generals course marks obtained in top four subjects shall be considered to ascertain the aggregate marks of a candidate. Environmental Education / Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. If the subject Environmental Science/Studies is an elective subject of 100 marks, then it may be taken into account for determining the aggregate marks.
  2. Forms will be issued to regular students and the students passed in the earlier years (2008, 2009& 2010) also. However, preference will be given to the students of current year. The cases of 2008, 2009 & 2010 will be considered if the seats remain vacant after Admission of Students of the current year.
  3. The Students of this College will be allowed to take readmission in 1st year classes as per rules of West Bengal State University.
  4. All admissions will be made on the basis of Merit List. Admission will be closed as soon as the seats are filled.
  5. Students must bring their guardian (Father/ Mother) at the time of Admission

Students may collect their Forms from College counter on production of Original/Attested Xeroxed Mark sheet and payment of requisite charge for the Form & Prospectus. Students may also collect more than one form (Price Rs.50/-  per Form) for seeking admission to different Honours /General Courses as per University rules i.e. separate form is to be used for making application to different courses. 

Forms may also be downloaded from the College websitewww.mahadevanandamahavidyalaya.com) or the University website (www.wbsubregistration.org) for a common application form and submitted on payment of Rs. 50/-.  Candidates applying through downloaded forms have to  purchase a regular Form and staple it with the downloaded Form and then submit both.

  1. Norms for making application for admission to 1st year Honours classes (General Category )

a) A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
or
b) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
or
c) 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied subjects in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.

Note:
PHYSICS HONOURS: Candidates must have at least 50% in Mathematics at the Higher Secondary level.
BENGALI HONOURS: Candidates must have at least 50% in Bengali at the Higher Secondary level.
ACCOUNTING & FINANCE HONOURS: Marks in Mathematics or Statistics shall be considered as related subject for candidates applying from the Science stream.
Separate forms have to be purchased for separate Honours application.

  1. In case of Scheduled Caste/Tribe Students: 40% in aggregate or 40% in subject or related subject. They have to produce Caste Certificate in original issued by Govt. of West Bengal at the time of admission.
  2. Verification of Forms:

a)Venue: RGSN Campus/ College Main Building
b) Original Mark-sheet of HS/ISC/CBSE/NOS, Admit card / Certificate of Madhyamik and SC/ ST certificate (if any) to be produced at the time of verification.


c) Documents to be attached with the form:


i) Two sets of attested copies of Mark-sheets of HS/ISC/CBSE/NOS.
ii) Character/ School leaving Certificate (Original)
iii) S.C/ S.T. Certificate by W.B. Govt. (Attested)
iv) Attested copy of Admit Card/ Certificate of Madhyamik/ equivalent examination for age proof (Two sets).
v) Four (4) recent stamp sized photographs.
vi) One Photocopy of Ration card/Voter’s Identity card/ Telephone bill/ Electricity bill/ Bank Pass book as Address proof.
