Admission Process for the session 2013 - 2014

 

 

Important Guidelines

  • Visit http://admission.mahadevanandamahavidyalaya.com/ for submission of online application
  • Online submission of forms: 03.06.13 to 11.06.13.
  • Last date of payment of Fee for Admission Form at specified Axis Bank Branches: 12.06.13
  • Specified Axis Bank Branches: Barrackpore, Nabapally, Khardah, Panihati, Shrirampur
  • Separate forms have to be submitted for separate Honours/ General/ Courses application.
  • Candidates must take print out of the filled up admission form and challan. The challan is to be produced in the designated Axis bank branches for payment of fees.
  • Price of each Form : Rs. 60.00 (Sixty only)
  • Application will be valid and considered for merit list computation only after receipt of the required fees.
  • Candidates are to produce the printed admission form and duly receipt challan at the time of admission

 

The candidates/ willing students are asked to note the following:

  1. A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, CBSE, ISC or other State Boards/ Councils or Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya and National Open School, recognized by Distant Learning Council is eligible to seek admission to the first year of the three year B.A/B.Sc./B.Com (Honours/ General) Course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. However, no candidate shall be allowed for admission after lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognised regular course of study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For admission to the Honours / Generals course marks obtained in top four subjects shall be considered to ascertain the aggregate marks of a candidate. Environmental Education / Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. If the subject Environmental Science/Studies is an elective subject of 100 marks, then it may be taken into account for determining the aggregate marks.
  2. Application to seek Admission shall be by online process only.
  3. All admissions will be made on the basis of Merit List. There will be no Direct Admission. Admission will be closed as soon as the seats are filled.
  4. Norms for making application for admission to 1st year Honours classes (General Category: )

a) A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
or
b) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
or
c) 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied subjects in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.
Note:
ACCOUNTING & FINANCE HONOURS: Marks in Mathematics or Statistics shall be considered as related subject for candidates applying from the Science stream.
Separate forms have to be submitted for separate Honours/ General/ Courses application.

  1. In case of Scheduled Caste/Tribe Students: 40% in aggregate and 40% in subject or related subject. They have to produce Caste Certificate in original issued by appropriate authority at the time of admission.
  2. Verification of Forms:

a)Venue: College Campus
b) Original Mark-sheet of HS/ISC/CBSE/NOS, Admit card / Certificate of Madhyamik and SC/ ST certificate (if any) to be produced at the time of verification.
c) Documents to be submitted at the time of admission/ verification:

    • 2 sets of attested copies of marksheet of the last qualifying Examinations (H.S/ C.B.S.E/ I.S.C etc.)
    • Two sets of attested copies of Admit Card/ Certificate of Madhyamik/ Equivalent Examination (for age proof)
    • School leaving certificate/ Character certificate from the head of the institution last attended (original).
    • Attested copy of SC/ST Certificate from appropriate authority (issued by the Govt. of West Bengal) where applicable.
    • 4 copies of recent revenue stamp size color photograph
    • Address Proof (/Xerox Copy of Ration Card/ Voter’s Identity Card/ Telephone Bill/ Electricity Bill/ Bank Pass Book)

The originals of the above documents (1, 2, 4) are to be produced at the time of verification of the Admission Form
Submission of Admission Forms does not guarantee for admission. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Admission Sub-committee will be final and will be implemented without assigning any reason whatsoever.

Points to Remember

Submission of Admission Forms does not guarantee admission. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Admission Sub-Committee will be final.
If a candidate misses the given date and time for submission of forms, admission etc., he/ she will NOT be entertained further.

 

 

 

 

Publication of Merit Lists:

 

  • Tentative Date of Online publication of Merit List – 15th June, 2013, 3P.M.
  • Tentative Dates of Admission:
1st Counselling ALL HONS. : 18. 06.13.
1st Counselling B.Sc./B. Com. General: 20.06.13.
1st Counselling B.A. General: 24.06.13.

 

  • All candidates must enter their respective counselling rooms within 11 A.M. positively on the stipulated dates.
  • Admission of selected candidates shall be on the same date as counselling.
  • Dates of 2nd Counselling shall be announced later only if seats remain vacant.
  • Candidates missing Counselling dates shall not be entertained later.
